the

token provision of £10 only on account of the sum of £3,000,000 promised for this purpose. When the estimate for 1951-52 were prepared we had no clear indication as to when the work on the airport vos likely to start or of the amount of expenditure likely to be involved during the course of the year.

I am afraid that we are not in a much different position at the present time with regard to this matter. No definite plans to construct the airfield have yet been rude. The position in flat the Governor is awaiting

the vicc of le Ministry of Civil Aviation on certain aspecto of tia Boheme. un receipt of this advice he should be in a petion to decide whether of not to proceed with the schme. Ministry of Civil Aviation will go hose be with the Governor by sbout the end of this month but of souve0 farther correspondence may be nacessary before a decision in principle can be taken to proceed and a rough estimate of the cost imælved prepared. It usems very doubtful, therefore, whether we are in any better position nov tan ve were thin bine Leub your.

In our forecast estimateg ne hand allowed a gun of 2000,000 to Se ermented Miring 1952-53 but of course on bie stren bl. of the information available at beat we could not reng vell wasa you to include this swn in the past estiuntas. Whether or not we shall be in shy better msition to decide what provisio. is repireć for next year before the estimate finally closes in the miscle of January is at the moment sechab Joubtful. Mut we would surgeat, therefore, is that the toren mnovialen of 210 should be repeated but that

be mbject to review in the light of the information then available before the culite finally closes in Jemary.
